Hi everyone.
Over the last couple of years I have been fortunate to have spent a bit of time in the beautiful country of Italy. Last year we travelled to the region of Liguria, a stunning section of the country in the far northwest with possibly some of the country's most beautiful coastline, the famous Cinque Terre (five lands). A drive along this undulating coastal road is breathtaking, to say the least. The coastline of peaks and troughs never seems to fail to impress with every turn, revealing spectacular views of vineyard-terraced hills falling away to the distant sparkling-blue Mediterranean, where rugged, barely penetrable inlets secrete away a number of small beaches, and rocky shorelines that are perfect for hiding away from the rest of the crowds found in the larger towns that frame them and rest upon the five lands: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore. On the northern edge of the Cinque Terre lies the coastal resort of Levanto, which despite being a popular resort, still manages to maintain the charm of a small holiday town. I have finally got around the sorting through the hundreds of photos I took from two trips to this region and have now made a select few available on this website.
I also attended the annual Lipica Day in the village of Brdo, just north of Kranj in Slovenia. This featured a select few of the best riders from the Lipica Stud Farm and was a great day packed with a variety of performances and great horsemanship.
For Slovenia, I finally got around to visiting the wonderful Snežnik Castle on a lovely sunny morning and managed to get some great photos of this beautiful and well-preserved castle.
